Dear Daniel-
I really enjnoyed you coming to our class to speak. Writing is something that i never thought I would be good at. I sometimes still don't think that I am good at writing. What made you decide to become a writer? What or who was your inspiration? I mean, I like English and I want to teach it, but I don't think taht I would be able to make writing a profession. I feel like i woulod fail miserably. But that's okay because writing wasn't always my strong suit. I am getting better at it though, being in college. I don't have the mindset to be a writer. I am really not into philosophy or anything like that. Publishing a book is a big deal, I think. My time at this university has been a great one, but the workload at times seems rediculous. I think I went into college thinking it would be the same amount of work as high school. It's so much more ! How was your adjustment to college? Was it all you thought it would be?
Also, do you recommend studying abroad. I know that you talked about it a little in class but how did you like the adjustment from one country to another? Did it force you to learn the language? I want to study abroad, maybe in England or Spain. Since I am an English Education major I think that I could benefit from studying in England. I am a Spanish minor, and I have always been interested in going to Spain. I think that it would force me to use my spanish more, and really be an opportunity of a lifetime.
How do you have faith in writing in the world that we live in today ? How do you take it when someone criticizes your work? Is it interesting for you or does it just hurt you? Well, I hope that you keep having the motivation to continue writing because I think that it takes real talent to write and publish a work of art.
